Living from time to time not far from stops on the southern and northern Ohio legs of the underground railroad (e.g., Greenville, Ashtabula and Salem) and now very close to an historic house museum honoring another suffragette, Harriet Taylor Upton, Harriet Tubman is a relatively familiar name. She's also a woman about whom I'd like to learn more; to that end, this excerpt is tantalizing enough to make me want to read the rest of her story. I consider myself to be a strong woman; but I cannot fathom the strength and courage of women like Tubman, whose actions literally changed the course of history. Do I want to read this book? Absolutely!
