Where do I even begin. When I started reading this I had the impression that it was going to be like every about the paranormal book in the young adult genre. I was completely proved wrong. Every chapter was just as detailed and interesting as the next which kept me wanting to read it ever time I had to put it down. Jake was a very well written character that I truly believe a lot of people can relate to. He has lived his life up until this point trying to stay quiet and he hates when he is the center of attention. Over the course of the book he finds new friends and he discovers that he is stronger then he had believed. This is the first work I have read from Ryan Douglas and I am extremely impressed. I can’t wait to read more of his work in the future. I recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a book with good LGBT+ and POC representation as well as anyone who is just looking for a great book to read.
