I wanted to like this more than I did. I really liked the concept but I wasn't 100% into the execution. Jake Livingston can see ghosts. Well, he can see ghosts as they relive their final moments. In constant repetition. How awful!! What a horrific and tragic ability to have. Then a ghost breaks out of the norm and starts terrorizing people, a wicked malevolent spirit. It's up to Jake, his new friend, and his old friend to get to the bottom of what's happening. Meanwhile, sparks may start to fly! Doesn't it sound so thrilling and original? Yes! But I just didn't love it. I'm not sure exactly where my problem is. Maybe if it were longer? Maybe if we got more of an explanation as to why Jake has this ability and are there other people who has similar abilities? I'm still interested in Douglass's future novels.But I do love the cover! You can clearly see the terror on Jake's face.
