This is such a creative premise for a book! A sixteen year old medium who is just trying to survive high school, yet suddenly has to help a school shooter reach the afterlife. There's a lot going on. The book is written from two perspectives: Jake's daily life and Sawyer's diary entries. I'll admit, it can be really hard to get into the mind of a teenage school shooter and feel any type of sympathy for them. But Jake is really the redeeming character for the book. He has so much going for and against him and seems so relatable - which is funny because how many people would call someone who can see dead people relatable?

I think that the cover of the book is really creative and eye-catching. I love the ghostly hands and Jake's facial expression, not to mention the creepy font used to really emphasize that this is a horror-comedy-young adult novel.
