I was so happy when this book arrived in the mail! I dove right into this book as soon as I opened the package. I was captivated by this book from the very first line of the story. The writing is amazing, and it kept me thinking and the pages turning! I loved the imagery in this story. It brought me right back to high school and the school shooting drills. The language is of a typical of a teenager- without feeling like you are living in a young book. I felt like I was living those moments with Jake and his classmates. When the story take place back at the house, and the pictures and the world around him is changing, it kept me entertained and able to picture what was happening in the room. The diary entrees were also a great addition to the writing in this book. The built in timeline was perfect!
