The cover really caught my eye, and it is what really made me want to read this book. The story was an interesting concept, but some of the supernatural stuff was not believable. For instance, a ghost physically harms people which is not something that can typically happen in supernatural books, and I found it a bit unbelievable. Some of the other things that happened with the supernatural beings seems weird as well.
I did like the topics it dealt with, however I felt the biggest theme of the book, how Jake came to terms with handling himself the way he wanted to, was a bit rushed. I would have liked to read a little more about that. Otherwise, the character building was great. I did feel I could relate to Jake and I even felt sympathy for the antagonist to some extent.
