I didn’t used to read many ghost stories (too scary) but recently I’ve started to get more into them! I get especially excited when I see a ghost story with LGBTQ+ rep, like The Taking of Jake Livingston!
This book was beyond thrilling, and kept me up reading late into the night! I can’t wait to see what Ryan Douglass will write next, because The Taking of Jake Livingston was right up my alley. Though this was Douglass’s debut novel, it felt as though written by an experienced and skilled author. If you enjoy spooky stories packed with ghosts and mystery, you’ve got to pick up a copy right away!
I would especially recommend this book to people who are missing Halloween this summer, as The Taking of Jake Livingston has the perfect thriller energy to match the spooky season!
