This story feels very fresh and exciting. It seems like a very dark, but still somewhat humorous, ghost story (with maybe some horror thrown in?), with a perspective that I haven't seen done well (not only is Jake a medium, he's also one of the only Black kids at his school, and this current ghost seems to be not only notorious but pretty bleak).
