This book immediately thrusts the reader into its world, where ghosts are real and main character Jake's ability to see and be harassed by them in general pales in comparison to the way racist white teachers and other adults (and teens) treat him at his prep school. This is an amazing blend of realism and horror/thriller so far, and I definitely want to read more.
