What a great start to this book! Already I’m in love with the main character. Jake’s not only feeling out of place because of his race and situation, he’s also seeing ghosts at every turn. He’s dealing with the horror of the dead reliving their last moments. Such a unique and chilling approach to a ghost story. I was also drawn to how detailed and vivid the writing is. I felt like I was there for the shooting drill, and was so upset and dazed along with him! I’m very much looking forward to reading this!
