I normally don’t read books like this but I’m trying to move out of my comfort zone. This book was different. I think the plot premise was good, a weird plant shows up at our main character’s fancy nursery and could it be a nefarious plot and what about the new sushi place, but for some reason I had a hard time connecting. Here is what I liked. I liked everything about the setting. The Vancouver vibe of cool shops and I actually liked how descriptive the book was. I didn’t really connect with the characters. I get they were an odd crowd but I just couldn’t get attached to any one character so that made it a little rough going at times for me. I think the best way to describe it for me was it was funny at times it was a little weird for me.
