Well this was at the very least an entertaining read. Slightly offensive, odd, and with some chuckle worthy moments. It’s just one of those books that takes a moment to absorb. The pacing was a little slow for me, and the characters were written decently enough with a good level of snark, albeit a little quirky. Seb in particular was just one of those characters that was just a little hard to connect with and his inner monologue was a bit much at times.
I think what I did like most about this book is the author’s clear devotion to the city of Vancouver. There was just something about how he writes about it that was kind of wonderful.
I really wanted to enjoy this book more, but I think the first and second half need to find each other and blend in pacing more smoothly, a few tweaks will really help this book.
