I could tell that the book was going to be witty from the first page. I loved the '80s pop references and the characters. Plus the main character owns a plant nursery--I could spend all day there! The plot really got me interested when he went to the sushi restaurant and passed out--I had no idea where the story was going--did he just pass out? Is this going in the fantasy/sci fi direction? Unfortunately that is where the sample ended. The narrative jumped around a bit and I had trouble keeping up in parts. I think this is just the author's style and not my reading preference. I did not really care for the cover. The chopsticks that were described in the book would have made an excellent cover.
