The Sushi Prophecies reminds me of Ernest Cline's Ready Player One in that it is constantly throwing pop culture references at the reader. The writing is colorful, clever, and crass at times. I don't think this is my cup of tea, but it's certainly original and will likely find an audience with fans of David Wong or Grady Hendrix.
