A Ray of Sunshine
The Sun Shine Mind is a positive, uplifting book. Being a Christian myself, I appreciated the Bible notations and references to God and Christianity in our every day lives. By presenting their book this way, the authors may have limited their audience, but perhaps this is not a great concern. The writing is not “preachy”.
This book is written in a readable, interesting way with a portion of a Bible verse highlighted first. Examples from the authors lives and others are used to show how one’s life could be enriched based on the premise of the Bible verse. The authors don’t try to say everything in life is easy, but advocate how looking for the positives and finding solutions for the negatives can add joy to life. We can choose how to react to events in our lives and strive to find balance and happiness.
We don’t all have the same perception of God and how he is working in our lives. Even though my view is a little different, I feel there is definite value in reading The Sun Shine Mind. It leaves the reader feeling hopeful and positive in dealing with many situations that come up in life. I thank BookishFirst and Zondervan Books for my copy.
