Note: I didn't read the previous book in the Rory/Lane series, haven't even read Charlie Donlea before. I still ended up enjoying this one a lot!

I do love a slow burn mystery thriller, and "The Suicide House" delivered on that...but perhaps too slow of a burn? I really enjoyed Rory and Lane, both on their own and the way they interacted with one another. All of the character stuff between them was great, but some of the intermittent details felt repetitive and in parts I found myself getting impatient to get to the next part...

Similarly, I didn't care much for some of the minor character-focused segments. I do like that the mystery is being investigated for the purpose of a podcast; it's what drew me to this book in the first place. It gave the story an interesting structure, but I feel like it also gave it an excuse to introduce a lot of those characters.

I was satisfied by the ending, so, overall I'm glad I gave this a read.
