I was really excited to finally read Charlie Donlea’s The Suicide House after seeing so many positive reviews about it. I had not read any of the author’s previous books, so I didn’t have any knowledge about two of the characters, Rory and Lane, being from his previous books.
I was hooked to the story from the first chapter. I wanted to know the identity of the person talking to their therapist. But as the story went on, more and more characters were introduced and it got to the point where I was trying to keep track of each one. Unfortunately, I didn’t care about any of the characters except Rory and Lane. They were both really interesting character that I wanted to know more about. The story started to drag and I found myself skimming a bit just to get to the end.
The book had the potential to be a great story, but it just didn’t live up to my expectations.
