I read this independently a few months ago, and was really impressed with the story and characters. I’m always drawn to genius characters, with social skills difficulty, and this had all that I wanted in a story. The main investigator is quirky, loves restoring old dolls (!!) and has major difficulty talking to people. However, she is a master of putting herself into the point of view of victims, thus making her a great crime solver.

I felt like there was a great story here, but a few extra characters for my liking. The reporter was. Not needed, and I felt like was a little confusing to have her there. I felt like the twist at the end could have been twistier, but definitely was a good book, all around. Definitely would recommend it for a scary fall read!
