Picture this. You are driving home from work listening to a true crime podcast, about a creepy boarding school that has an exclusive secret society that no one acknowledges at the school despite a lengthy history. During initiation night of the society, two students are gruesomely killed. A few days later, a teacher at the school attempts to kill himself by jumping in front of a train. Now, the few students who were invited to the initiation night are also jumping in front of trains. Weird, right? Maybe more to the story? Exactly.

Rory and Lane are called in to profile and go over the details of this seemingly closed case. Rory is a forensic reconstructionist, whom is able to examine the details of cold cases and ultimately, close them. Lane is an ex-FBI profiler. They are definitely up for the job.

I don't want to post anything more about this book in terms of spoilers. This is the first book that I have read by Donlea, and I'm impressed. The book is fast paced, with small chapters, making it an easy read for those who have a chunk of time on their hands or those who read a few chapters a day. It also has a twist at the end that puts a whole new spin on the entire book and its storylines.

In terms of the storylines, there are several different ones that all converge, however, I did not find them overwhelming. The different storylines actually added to the fast pace.

I was surprised to see that this book is part of a series, as it would be great as a stand alone. You can bet that I will definitely read the first installment of the series that chronicles Rory's life.

******I received this book as a ARC in exchange for an honest review.*******
