First of all I would like to thank Bookishfirst for giving me the opportunity to read an advance copy of The Suicide House by Charlie Donlea in exchange for an honest opinion. I did not know this one was part of a series, however you do not have to read the first to understand this one. It just has the same main two characters in it Rory and Lane. I had never heard of this thriller author before and I am so glad I have found him. His writing style is great, I loved how this story was character driven and had unreliable narrators mixed in to keep you guessing where the story was going to go and who the killer was. I like that two different timelines were used and you would get the story from some of the witnesses through their eyes during the time the murders take place. I also liked seeing that one of the main investigators was autistic and she would use her quirks in helping her solve the cold cases. I like when authors use diverse characters. There was a lot of characters that you got to see inside their heads throughout the story and it tied up nicely in the end. The entire time I was trying to figure out who did it and ended up changing who I thought several times throughout the story and definitely did not see what was coming. There are triggers in the story hence the name of the title being one of them. I feel like there should be a warning for those in the beginning. I definitely will be picking up more books by this author in the future.
