The cover was okay; the preview was a lot better. It opens with a interesting mystery with the requisite humor from the two protagonists setting up what appears to be the over arcing plot of the story ... a typical frame job and the subsequent investigation into who set them up and why. Despite the fairly typical fantsy trope here, it works because of the solid writing style.

It seems like a fun story in the vein of many frantasy series that have come before; such as the Grey Mouser series, all of which I have enjoyed even if not something that would completely knock you socks off. It was intriguing enough to want to finish the story and perhaps find the story of a fun fantasy series to enjoy in the future.
