Eld and Buc are escorted into a library to stand trial for the killing of half a dozen men. They claim it was only 5 men and it was self defense.They didn't kill the mage. But why would a mage kill his employer? Whats the motive?
I found myself intrigued with the main characters implied job and what this story could turn into. Will Eld and Buc start working for the Kanados Trading Company? Will they become mages?
Some of the beginning was a little difficult to understand being as a lot of information was introduced. Some of which I still haven't fully grasped but im hoping that it is revealed as the story unfolds.
I also feel like the cover does not do this book justice.
