I'm always a fan of a good female protagonist. One who seeks knowledge in a world which seems to count women out is also a bonus. From the cover art featuring a clearly battle experienced woman, and description, I was excited to find out what this story entailed. The author does a fantastic job of setting the scene. The imagery invoked from the clever use of certain adjectives allowed me to fully immerse myself in the story. I was a little disappointed when the excerpt ended. My only criticism would be from the dialogue. The wording and pattern were not quite smooth, but it did not have a significant effect on my enjoyment of the excerpt.
