So far, I'm not finding the main character particularly likable, partly because of how the book opened up and partly because she comes across a bit arrogant and brash. The dialogue vacillates between colloquial and otherworldly. As for the cover, I'm not a big fan and I think that's mostly due to the font and the color scheme.
