The Silent Unseen is set during World War II, but because it's not focused on typical characters for the genre, it was unique and I really appreciated that. The plot was engaging and I read the book quite quickly. It was informative, yet emotional, and I think it is great for adults (who enjoy YA) and the actual young adult and teen audience. I enjoyed the growing relationship between the main characters and was happy that the story involved a bit of romance through the tension. I recommend this story for historical fiction and young adult genre readers, especially those who enjoy reading about the World War II time period. Despite the time period, it feels new and told from a different perspective than many others told during the war. For that reason, even someone who may believe they have read their fair share of WWII novels will find reason to like this book!
