What a GREAT read!
Wow, what a great read! The Silent Patient was a book that I had on my highly anticipated read list and it did not disappoint. I'm a sucker for a good psychological thriller so this book was one I was really excited to dive into. This book follows the story of patient and artist Alicia Berenson, who's life seems to be perfect before she kills her husband. After the incident, Alicia never speaks another word. Criminal psychotherapist Theo Faber is intrigued by Alicia's story and can't wait to work with her and get her to tell her side of the story. The theme of the book is to figure out why Alicia killed her husband.
I read this book in two days and I think it only took me that long because it was slow in parts. However, anytime I felt it got slow the author would throw in a major unexpected twist that would pick it right back up again. This paired with the need to know "why she did it" kept me reading until the very end.
