Review: The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 stars

This early 2019 twisty suspense has received SO much hype. The ranting and raving about this book is what made me pick it up, and I have to say: this book was ruined for me by some of the well-meaning "no-spoiler" reviews that I read. I was so disappointed by that! So just a reminder: be careful in what you accidentally give away or allude to in your reviews. 🤫

On that note, what do I have to share with you about this book? It's a slow-burn, gradually unfolding mystery set in a secure forensic unit in England. Alicia, the silent patient, shot her husband to death many years ago and hasn't said a word since. What really happened, and why is she silent? Her psychotherapist Theo works with her throughout these pages to uncover the truth and unearth her voice.

I liked the pace and atmosphere of this one a lot. If you like suspense this will probably be right up your alley!
