I feel like I start a lot of reviews with WOW!, but this one truly deserves it. I was hooked from the very first couple of pages. I was very drawn into the story of Alicia, what she experienced throughout her childhood and the role that that trauma played in the rest of her life. It was also very interesting to learn about Theo's childhood trauma as well, and how that played a major role in his life, as well as career choice as a psychotherapist. I never ever saw the ending coming...it had me mind blown. I loved how Alex Michaelides bounced back and forth between the lives of Alicia and Theo. I also enjoyed how Michaelides also included excerpts directly from Alicia's diary as well. It added a whole different level of connection with her character, and I don't think the book would have been the same without those in it. I highly recommend this book to any thriller lover!
