The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides is a psychological thriller following the story of Alicia after she supposedly murdered her husband, Gabriel, and the psychotherapist Theo who wants to figure out why she has been completely silent in the six years since Gabriel's murder.
The first part of the book was a bit on the slow side, as it laid the groundwork for what was to come. We slowly learn more about Theo's background and start to uncover more of the people around Alicia at the time of the murder. However, once I got to the last 100 pages or so - WOW this book took off and I couldn't put it down. Things begin to be uncovered and fall into place, ending in a twist at the end that I truly did not see coming.
Overall, a very enjoyable read.
