Spent New Year's Eve Reading -couldn't put it down
Alex Michaelides hit a home run with The Silent Patient. I literally could not put this book down until the last page.
When Alicia, an artist, is found with 'the smoking gun" next to her famous photographer - dead husband's body, speculation abounds. With both being in the public spotlight, the usual trial by the public takes place. Problem is, Alicia stopped speaking and no one knows what truly happened. Alicia is convicted but mentally incompetent and heads to the mental institution.
Fast forward 6 years and luckily (??) Alicia is assigned a new psychotherapist to work with her and he manages to break through to Alicia. Theo is able to get Alicia to speak after all these years, and the story she tells is a shocker!
