Slow Burn
Alicia’s husband Gabriel returns home late one night and she shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks again. She is transferred to the Grove, a secure unit in London. Theo, a psychotherapist at Grove becomes obsessed and determined to uncover the mystery surrounding the tragedy.
This book really captured my attention and I read it so quick because I just wanted to know how it ends! There are several plot twists and turns that were so unexpected for me but I found myself remembering little clues from earlier chapters. Alex Michaelides’ writing is beautiful; his characters are well thought out and even though Alicia doesn’t have any dialogue I felt very drawn and intrigued by her. Great page-turner and I will be picking up anything Alex writes in the future!
