Overall, I really enjoyed my copy of The Silent Patient.

Pros:
1) Based on the book's surface-level description of various characters and the revealing of deeper character insights and motives through the plot's development, all characters are easy for the reader to envision and are fully developed.
2) The way the story is written is easy to follow and the story is well written. I particularly enjoyed the short chapters. It was a quick read!
3) True to the "thriller" genre I was always left guessing what would be revealed next.

Cons
Without revealing any spoilers, my small criticisms are as follows:
1) As is typical of many thrillers, a multitude of things had to fall perfectly in to place to make the end result plausible. While the ending made sense, the reader must suspend some disbelief in regard to the number of coincidences that surrounded the silent patient, the fact that what first caused the patient's story to begin to unfold was not discovered earlier in the story, etc.
2) There was at least a few incidences where something was brought up as a plot point to possibly throw the reader off track and I do not feel like all of these instances were fully resolved.

Again, I read this entire book in one day so I obviously enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrillers, mysteries, or psycholgical dramas.
