This was one of the less predictable thrillers I’ve read in a while. I find myself knowing the twists long before they come in a lot of books lately. The author did a great job developing Alicias character through glimpses into her past and other unique ways as the premise is she has become mute after experiencing a traumatic event. Alicia is likeable, and I found myself rooting for her to heal and tell her story, which of course there is way more to than meets the eye. I am looking forward to reading more by this author. The psychology references were appreciated and helped to give some insight into the main characters overall mental state. The more that is revealed, the more you begin to understand why Alicia has shutdown. Again, I think I appreciated the lack of predictability the most, and hope to see more unique storylines in the future from this author. 4 stars
