I was initially pretty hesitant to read this book, but it was getting an insane amount of praise from all of my coworkers (I work at a bookstore!), so I finally decided to give it a go. This book was good, but to me, it wasn't great. The author definitely knows how to craft an interesting story together, and I enjoyed the writing style. While I thought I saw the twist coming, it turned out that I only got it half right, which was good! I'd consider reading something else by this author.
I think I was the problem more than the book was. As someone studying psychology and as someone who has worked in the field, it's easy for me to pick apart books like this. It's the same reason that cops don't like cop shows. If you're not someone with a ton of background knowledge on psychology or psychotherapy, this could be a much better fit for you than it was for me.
