Don’t let your guard down while reading this. At first, the short chapters had me gently riding the waves like I was in a lazy river. I even skimmed a few pages when I thought I could get by with it. Suddenly, the current caught me, and I was frantically flipping pages to find out what would happen next! The Silent Patient crosses the line between trust and doubt, teasing with facts and opinions. The ending is nothing short of perfection.
The characters are each so unique; Theo's mind-conversations felt like something anyone would think. Yet nothing is as it seems!
The Silent Patient is one of my favorite 2019 reads already; what a delicious morsel that fans of B. A. Paris and Clare Macintosh will gobble up.
