This book completely had me fooled.
Theo is a therapist at a mental institution where the famous Alicia Berenson has been committed. In her former life, Alicia was a well reputed painter, but one fateful night she murdered her husband by stabbing him in the face multiple times. Since that night, Alicia has yet to utter a single word.
Theo makes it his mission to help Alicia. He feels she is misunderstood and he needs to get to the root of the murder and subsequent silence.
The novel is told through Theo’s point of view. Theo wasn’t much of a likable character in my opinion. Additionally the storytelling completely threw me off - for most of the story I expected Alicia and Theo to be one in the same. The twists and turns are excellent and this is definitely a worthy thriller.
