Not worth the hype
The Silent Patient was a highly anticipated read for me. I've seen rave reviews all over the book world, so I was excited to read it.
This book was enjoyable and a quick read. The story was good, but something about it left me wanting more. The narrator came across as self-absorbed and the psychoanalysis was a little much at times. I found myself a little bored until we really started to hear Alicia's POV. To me, the characters were pretty unlikeable so I wasn't all that invested in the story. The twist was interesting and I didn't see it coming, so that unpredictability made it worth the read.
This book was fine, although it didn't live up to the hype for me. Just so-so and there are better thrillers out there!
