I just finished The Silent Patient and wow was it a slow burn thriller. Theo Faber is a psychotherapist who is interested in treating Alicia who has not spoken a single word since killing her husband Gabriel six years ago. Theo wants to get to the bottom of why she has not spoken since then. Through his actions and determination he slowly finds his answers and is intrigued by the influence of the Greek tragedy Alcestis on Alicia's condition. Being in the social sciences and Michaelides being a former psychotherapist made this a gripping read for me. There were some plot holes and things that happened that do not totally make sense but overall this was a great read that delves into the mind and psyche of both Alicia and Theo. Michaelides is a great suspense/thriller writer and I look forward to reading his future works. Highly recommend.
