So first before I really get into this review, lets just say that I was captivated by the title and the premise. Now after having read it, I should have known to avoid books like these. It was completely rife with the stereotype of the dysfunctional psychotherapist who broke every rule in the book. Can I get a good therapist in a thriller already?

Having had read a twist like this many times prior, I was not surprised by the ending or that big reveal. Luckily, I felt satisfied by how the author ended the novel. That was its redeeming quality.

I wish the journal entries of Alicia gave us more. I felt all it gave us was a chronological play of the events leading up to the murder (not a spoiler) but it lacked deep personal insight. It hinted at emotions but kept them very surface level.

Had high hopes but ended lackluster for me. I did hear the audio book is a good way to digest this novel.
