UM?????? WHAT?!?!?!??!? I have no words. This was so. flipping. good!!!!! Honestly the best thing I’ve read in a while. I could not put it down & it for sure lived up to all the hype. I had been on the hunt for a good psychological thriller and this was it.
The story follows a woman who has been convicted in the murder of her husband. Prior to the murder, she was a normal person. Following the murder, she becomes mute and will not talk. She won't even say a word in her defense. She is sent to a psychiatric hospital to see if she can be rehabilitated. A new psychologist arrives to work with her believing that he will be the one to get her to talk. But we soon find that everything isn't what it seems.
I love thrillers that keep me guessing and where I can't figure out what's going to happen. And this was that type of book for me.
The writing style felt a bit rushed and confusing at times. The back and forth time periods seemed to get a little weird, and at times I felt like the backstory didn't add up for the current time period to make sense. Overall, I would highly recommend this book.
