3.5/5.0: Well, I liked it. I just knew I would love this book when I read the synopsis as thrillers are one of my favorite genres and thrillers that include mental health/psychological care are quite literally “my jam”. The great: I did not expect the ending- totally had the wrong “bad guy” pegged, so that gets an automatic three stars from me. What fell short for me was that the plot line seemed to drag; every interaction anyone had with the main character was blasé and repetitive. Im usually ok with slow burns but this was less slow burn and more blown out candle that’s still smoking a bit.

To end on a positive, I thought the writing style was wonderful and the author had such a way with words. There were several lines in this book that were so beautifully written that my copy is filled with tabs to identify these passages. Overall, I liked “The Silent Patient” and would recommend it to readers of the genre.
