This was a very unique psychological thriller in comparison to what I have read before. The concept of being unable to talk and the symbolism of silencing someone was very intense. I found myself having to read it in short bursts at times due to the intensity of the subject matter. There are many trigger warnings for this book, so just be aware! The detail that was added in and the different turns that were taken just to mislead the reader and everyone in the story as to who was the culprit was so well done.

I’m really quite upset that I did not enjoy this book as much as so many other people seem to. I found this book to be difficult to read at points and a bit slow. This would be something I would consider a slow burn sort of thriller, and that’s not exactly my thing I don’t think. The twist and culprit were unexpected and that really saved the book for me. If I had guessed correctly who it had been then the book would have been a complete no.

This book was extraordinarily well written, but just didn’t vibe with me very well. I did give it 3 out of 5, and that ending is worth reading. I will read another book by this author, and I do recommend this for fans of psychological thrillers.
