The story is told from a two point perspective; Theo's narrative and Alicia's journals. Theo is the main narrator; from the start we find that he is "pretty messed up" and has a fascination with Alicia, who is in a mental health facility for murdering her husband. Like Theo, I became complete enthralled and intrigued as to what Alicia's story was. Why did she do it?
It's a fast-paced ride with short punchy chapters (definitely one of those, just one more chapter). There are many moments of surprise and questions arise at every turn. I never once felt like I had a grasp on how this story was going to play out, which kept me until the last page.
