I liked this book and was surprised by the ending

I really enjoyed reading this book. I had seen it on people's reading recommendation lists for a few months but did not have a grasp on the plot which served me well. I love having the story told from multiple perspectives and the back and forth chapters between Alicia's diaries and Theo's experiences provide deep character development, not just for the two of them but Gabriel as well. The would she or won't she of Alicia speaking built continual anticipation keeping me engaged throughout the entire book. Far too often psychological thrillers foretell the outcome in obvious ways but in this novel Alex Michaelides was exceptionally successful in pulling off a shocking twist. The book lived up to its hype and is a definite must read.
