I picked up the Silent Patient in time to read through the holidays, and as a result I did not see much of my family until I was finished reading! It's cliche, but I could not put this book down. Alex Michaelides has the reader on a thrill ride all the way up to the most unexpected twist I've ever read in a story.

"Somehow grasping at vanishing snowflakes is like grasping at happiness: an act of possession that instantly gives way to nothing."

The Silent Patient is two parts murder mystery, one part thriller and entirely captivating. Written from dual perspectives - mostly that of the therapist with interrupting journal entries from his mute patient - the reader feels like they know the whole story until suddenly they don't. If you're looking for a thrill, look no further than this book.
