I heard all the buzz on this one and couldn't agree more. Loved it. All of the the twists and the turns you might expect from what you know is a murder story but it's the ending that has stayed with me. A famous artist is found to have killed her husband and is arrested and sentenced to a mental facility. Alicia, the Silent Patient, will not talk to anyone since found by her husbands body. Enter the newest Psychotherapist into The Grove where Alicia lives out her sentence quietly. Patient/doctor boundaries are crossed while Theo, the psychotherapist tries to save Alicia from both her past and for her future. With the viability of The Grove in question, competitiveness and pettiness between the staff and inmates, will there be a future for anyone? Great back and forth narration between characters setting the stage for the showdown to come. It's a must read.
