I read this book in one sitting during a power outage - I have mixed feelings about it but overall it was a fairly good read and I don’t regret picking it up.

The action and suspense throughout the book was really engaging and well-written and I was always looking forward to the next twist and turn. I could have been a bit more invested in Alicia’s story and there were some inaccuracies about the therapy treatments that bugged me, but neither of those were deal-breakers for me.

My main issue is with the ending. I thought it was a little underwhelming compared to the stakes throughout the rest of the story and as a result I was a little unsatisfied. It also was guilty of one of my biggest reading pet peeves: a “twist” ending that is just for shock value and doesn’t have enough hints in the story.

Overall, this isn’t a superstar of a book but it’s a pretty good thriller and it’s worth the read if you like the genre or are intrigued by the book.
