Where to start with the Silent Patient...such an interesting premise, an accused murderer who chooses not to speak, and will only respond to one determined man. This is the sort of thriller I love, because the chapters were short and punchy, but had enough detail to keep you captivated and dying to find out more! I was really hoping the ending would live up to the tremendous underlying tension; however, it left me somewhat underwhelmed. Not disappointing, but not as exciting as the rest of the book. I did finish it in a day (almost in one sitting!) so I’d certainly consider it a success as a novel. I did think it got a tad oversold as the “thriller of the year” on places like Goodreads. I would still highly recommend it and look forward to this author’s next showing!
