I initially picked up Alex Michaelides's debut psycho-thriller novel SILENT PATIENT because a colleague direct-messaged that I have to read it next, and I am glad that I did. the book is full of a lot of dialogue, and I felt invested in the characters throughout the book. SILENT PATIENT is engaging and a fast read even for a slow reader like me. SILENT PATIENT takes place mostly in a psychiatric ward and handles mental health issues well enough: nothing offensive comes to mind. I very much enjoyed the twist toward the end. I definitely did not expect the book to end that way. I was on the fence between four and five stars for my Goodreads review but chose five because the ending really landed.
