What a gripping debut!

Successful artist Alicia Berrenson is accused of killing her husband. For six years, she’s lived at The Grove (a psychiatric unit) and refused to speak (about the incident or anything at all). Psychotherapist Theo Faber is fascinated with the case and is convinced he can get her to speak and tell her side of the story.

Complex characters and detailed plot (complete with some truly surprising twists) abound in this chilling debut from Michaelides. It started off a bit slower than expected, but once things started to unfold, I had a hard time putting the book aside. I read a lot of books in this genre, and I’m rarely surprised by the ending, but I was with this one. Based on this book, it looks like Michaelides has a bright future ahead of him. If you are a fan of dark psychological thrillers, don’t miss reading this one!
